Achillion Palace

Achillion Palace is one of the most famous royal mansions of Europe and perhaps one of the most important architectural landmarks of Corfu, located in Gastouri village, about 10 km. from Corfu town.
Princess Sissy was captivated by Greek Mythology and named the mansion “Achillion” after the Greek Μythology hero Achilles.

Saint Spyridon Church

Saint Spyridon is the patron saint of Corfu.
The church was built in 1589, in Corfu Town. It holds many excellent relics and has magnificent icons.
The remains of Saint Spyridon are held in a silver reliquary in the church, which comes out in procession during the town litanies on the 11th August  & the 12th of December.

Kanoni

Kanoni is one of the most famous locations in Corfu.
Overlooking pontikonisi and the airport it’s a hot spot for many tourists and locals.
There are plenty of bars & restaurants that you can enjoy your coffee or your meal, combining the magical view with some moments of relaxation.

Pontikonisi - The mouse island

Pontikonisi (the Mouse island) is the trademark of Corfu.
According to the myth, it was Odysseus boat which was turned into rock by Poseidon, to stop him from returning to his homeland. Also there are regular boat routes that depart from Vlacherna Monastery so you can visit the little picturesque island. Read more on wikipedia

The New Fortress

The new Fortress of Corfu is a Venetian Fortress built on the hill of Saint Mark.
The original architect of the fort was the military engineer Ferrante Vitelli. The construction began in 1576 and was completed in 1645. The fortress overlooks the old port and is considered a masterpiece of fortress architecture. The current buildings which exist within the fortress were built by the British during their rule of the island from 1815–1863. Read more on wikipedia

The Old Fortress

The Old Fortress of Corfu is located on the eastern side of Corfu port and was initially built during the Byzantine times. It was reinforced by the Venetians and later by the British. It had a moat and a draw bridge, which was later replaced by a steel bridge that connects the fortress to the town. The fortress is also home to several public offices such as the Municipal Library, the Archives, the Byzantine collection, the Conference Center, as well as the clock tower and the lighthouse. Read more on wikipedia
